Mindy,

My husband & I are in the beginning stages of hopefully moving to Europe...Italy or England being our 1st & 2nd desire. However, I have a friend who already has, she's precious and she's in BUDAPEST!

She is teaching & they have a young daughter attending the same school. Her family moved to Hungary for her husband's work & I hate to admit, I'm not exactly sure what he does.

Are you on facebook? If so, please let me know & I'll reach out to her so you can "friend" each other & possibly become a support to each other's family. Michelle & her family are beginning their 2nd year in Budapest.

Fondly,
Jennifer Alden

Jennifer,
Thank you for your kind comments. It sounds like the Lord is really preparing you guys for a big transition. I'd love to dialogue with you some more about what that would look like in Italy. However, no matter where you end up, God can and will use your gifts to glorify Him. I think you'd be surprised at how much a music background can be useful in this artistic culture.

Paul~Thank you so much for sharing! God is so faithful. He wants us to prosper & He wants to bless us. You allowed Him to do just that by committing your burden to prayer. What a special friendship you have now b/c you were faithful in your prayer-life.

My husband & I are very interested in Italy. We love the culture & are praying about what God wants us to do. You might be able to help. My husband's gifts are what I feel will be used the best to reach out to unbelievers. Although God may surprise me by opening up opportunities for my gifts. We'll see:) Anyway, he has been travelling overseas the last 3 summers, volunteering @ camps & most recently, holding soccer clinics in a poor town outside Cape Town while he attended the World Cup w/ 10 boys from his Varsity Soccer Team. That's what we would love to be able to do w/ our family. Working w/ youth through sports is definitely his strength. I have a degree in music but unfortunately, most sports camps don't combine w/ music....but we'll see. His first love is baseball followed by a close 2nd...soccer. The reason he loves to teach baseball overseas is b/c it's not s sport that's popular & it opens itself up to great conversation & many teaching moments. Soccer, on the other hand, is the universal sport. So, he enjoys just getting to play w/ kids, teenagers & young men in pick-up games. Just having fun can also bring forth great friendships...which is what has happened w/ his campers from Cairo.

All this to say, the past few years of my husband leading these clinics & camps & our absolute love for Europe has led to a yearning to want to do more; to break out of the bubble we are in & challenge ourselves. I would appreciate any input from anyone!

Hi Julie-

My name is Katie, and I'm about to go to Spain, not as a missionary. Your story hit me right where God's been pointing His finger- that my dreams for a country have to be His. I don't get glory for anything. Thank you for being so honest, with the nature of pride being what it is, it's often to realize and admit. I am touched by your story, and I am humbled by your love of the lost.
Thanks again.
